IT’S TIME TO PICK YOURSELF UP AND TAKE CONTROL

I know, you probably don’t want to listen to me lecturing you, and you may not need any further motivation because you’re eating healthy food, keeping moving and your starting to see those pounds disappear.

But what about those of us who have slipped off track a little and have started to eat the odd chocolate bar (or two) or maybe, like me, you’ve started squirrelling food away in secret places to eat when on your own. It’s like we don’t see how those nice but naughty treats every day make us fatter. Well, reality check – they do! I suppose, because when we eat those chocolates, biscuits, crackers, etc we don’t immediately baloon another 7pounds we think we can get away with it – we are kidding ourselves.

We justify and rationalise that is okay or it won’t hurt our diet, but then when we get away with it once we are more likely to repeat the behaviour again, and ‘voila’ we are back to some pretty bad diet behaviours.

We can tell ourselves………

Just one more….

I’ll skip lunch, it will be fine …..

Last one…….

Are they the same voices in your head as are in mine? When you begin to talk to yourself to try and convince yourself that its okay to binge on chocolates, then it’s time to …………PICK YOURSELF UP AND TAKE CONTROL!

You need to be serious about eating good healthy foods and getting enough exercise. It takes strength of mind and dedication to your goals, and today is the day when you need to dig in and re-take control of those cravings and maybe these dieting tips will help:

Eat a good balanced diet. Try to buy the best you can in meat, fish, fruit and vegetables because the nicer the ingredients, the nicer the meals and you will feel like you’re getting a treat at every meal.

Re-write your exercise routine. It doesn’t hurt to change your workout or even add something you haven’t done before to make it more interesting. Go take a Boxercise session or take yourself hill-walking. Try to include some aerobic, some stretching and toning and some weight routines. Just try to give every exercise 100%.

Don’t forget to keep your diary up to date. Be honest with yourself. Make new goals and think about what, where you want to be in a months time – 10pounds lighter maybe? Take control now and you will achieve those goals.

Well that’s it for now. Don’t forget that getting your eating and exercise routines back in control will not only make you feel better about yourself, but the effort you put in now is an investment in your future good health, continued good looks and good habits. You know you’re worth it, so lose weight and love life!
